Is truth a state of mind?
Or an absolute?

There is a truth that knows me when I live in it,
when no words are possible.

Otherwise, I use my compass to tell the more true from the less,
and lean towards the true when I can.

Leunig says that in order to be truthful
we must do more than speak the truth.
We must also hear the truth, act upon truth,
and search for truth, devote ourselves to truth.

Fearing absolutes, I tread carefully, and hold few things to be true.
These few are held tight as an ironfist, soft as a perfume,
because, as sure as night follows day, some things ARE true.
