Tirra's Ladder of Acceptance

Yearn

Yearning is a stronger, more durable form of wishing.   It seems to come from a more solid centre of gravity in us and pulls us steadily in one direction.

Yearning grows from the taste of wonder.   We experience something so whole and beautiful that we yearn constantly to know it again.  We don't choose to yearn.
The yearning is a gift that is given to us.
We can make the ground ready to receive it when it comes, and take care of it when it works in us.

At times, we can know that something is yearning for us.  This awareness calls us to come again and live there
in that larger place.

The small part yearns for the whole just as the whole yearns for the small part
to know it.

Yearning like this, I am never cut off from what I seek. I live in relationship with it.

I will wait patiently, alert and ready, with the steady pulse of yearning as my guide.
My face is turned towards you, I listen for the small sounds of your approach.

Eagerly I welcome you,
whenever you may appear.
I hunger for what you bring.

Yearning keeps me ready.
Yearning keeps me faithful.
