The shape-changers

Shape-changers are at work
in the landscape of my life.

Forms flicker and shift
in ambiguous light,
layering possibilities,
challenging me
to bear rich uncertainty.

The sureness I knew
on the clearly defined road
does not exist on this faint trail
in terrain with few landmarks.

Uncertainty sharpens perception,
making the world ever-fresh for me.
